Through the Professional and Institutional Development program (P&ID), funding is being made available to First Nations and First Nation organizations to support community-focused governance development.

Application Templates and Guidlies are available by request from Andrew Preston. Your budget target should be $35,000 - 40,000.

Our understanding of the program is that it supports governance planning including the drafting of a 5-year strategic governance plan and the subsequent implementation of the plan by researching, drafting and updating each of the five core governance codes (constitution, administraiton, financial, elections, membership, redress).

Whith support from the council and good communication, this process can be used to unite the community, provide clarity and transparency. Take your time and make it fun with youth and Elders workshops.
