09 07 06 Growing Connection Between KO Communities and United Nations

KO is working with partner First Nation communities to learn and share about growing vegetables. The United Nations' Growing Connections project includes ten green boxes that are engineered to provide effective use of peat, sun and water to grow crops in harsh climates. The participating communities are learning to grow vegetables throughout the summer and will share their stories with other communities around the world during the project. KO is excited to see youth involved in learning about food security and growing their own food.

Follow along with the communities as they watch their crops grow. Checkout the stories and photos. from the Thunder Bay growing site. For more information contact the coordinator, verlinjames@knet.ca or visit www.thegrowingconnection.org
