KORI presented examples of using video conference as an economic driver to the CCEDNet Nation Conference. There were many Community Economic Development groups participating. Northern Ontario was mostly represented by food security initiatives. Aboriginal groups from Northern Manitoba, BC and Atlantic Canada dicussed environmental and education issues. The Arctic Coop (arcticco-op.com) presented the Co-op Model used in Nunavut and NWT. They also described the partnership with credit unions and how the communities are owning retail, hotels, constuction and cable companies within the co-op model.
