KORI Team Activities

Duties at the KORI Office - (08/07/31) - (08/08/07)

I've been at my worst when it comes to putting in my daily entries, I guess I could call it a weakness although it is one of the most simple tasks that one is given. I'd like to apologize once again though for my inability to carry out such a simple task.

On that note, I've been spending my time making phone calls in relation to my contact list. I've also been doing other tasks such as photocopying, faxing, and doing a bit of filing. I've been doing a secretary role as well, greeting people and leading them to the boardroom for their conference and what not. I have more photocopying to do today.

(08 08 05) KiHS SSHRC Aboriginal Research Grant Update

Lakehead University's Seth Agbo and KORI's Brian Walmark met with Knet's Brian Beaton and Penny Carpenter and KiHS principal Darrin Potter to discuss the KiHS research project.  KO and members of the Lakehead University Faculty of Education won a research grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council earlier this year to document the important work taking place at the community level on digital education.  KiHS is one of the first First Nations controlled and operated digital high schools in Canada and the first digital school of any kind in Ontario.  To see photos, click here.

08/07/31 2 new videos!!!

I posted another 2 videos in the digital storytelling series on the KORI media player.  After a bit of a wait to get some feedback on it and dealing with those, which took me an additional 2 minutes, the two new ones are up.  I even had to contact two people to ask who presented that day.  Thanks to them, Susan O'Donnell, and Rudy from Wikwemikong!  Without that the video would have looked less professional without the speaker's names.

07/31/08 Education 2.0 and CED 2.0

If you haven't heard of web 2.0 then your mind is still in the gutter, 2.0 is included to a title to easily describe the use of today's web technology, the ease of collaboration and interaction.  Educators are getting into the mix, check out this blog to see how they use 2.0 to improve education.

I myself will start CED 2.0, community economic development 2.0.  We'll see how that one goes in the next few months.
